2016-17 Achievement Report Summary

2016-17 Achievements Till August 2016

The academic year 2016-2017 began on April 5th, 2016. Prior to that the previous academic year 2015-2016 ended with a lot of devastations and misfortunes. The year was all special until February when the school was attacked during JAT Agitations. The school was left with a lot of properties damaged or burnt. Among the damaged and burnt premises were: The Principal’s office, Account’s office, Library, Auditorium, Uniform Shop among others.

We at IPS Rohtak enthusiastically worked hard to rebuild the school once more. Despite all these, the school was running as usual. The administration offices were operating in another premise within the school. The students learnt to adjust by learning without a library. The library had been really magnificent and beautiful before the chaos but was left smoking. The Computer Labs were destroyed leaving computers broken and scattered. The elegant Auditorium which was very amazing was left a vacuum.

In spite of all these calamities and devastations, the school has been running smoothly and efficiently both academically and economically. The students of Class X and XII worked diligently to make the school proud academically. Many expected these

CBSE candidates to be affected by the agitations and these devastations but they never gave up or showed any signs of depression. They studied as usual and normal. They were strongly resilient in all the exams period.

Sooner, it was a prestigious moment for all the staff members and the students as the 10th class CBSE result was declared. Their hard labour bore fruits and 33 students out of 92 students got 10 CGPA. The school was abuzz with students as they poured in to share their elation with their mentors. Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Sindhu, Chairperson and the Principal applauded the earnest efforts of the students for giving 100% result. The students proved their mettle despite the torrid times. The horrendous incidents could not deter their spirits and they remained singularly focused. 49 students got A1 in IT, 47 students got A1 in English, 46 A1 in Hindi, 43 A1 in SSC, 39 in Maths and 36 students got A1 in Science. The same was the results of class XII. 24 students managed to get over 80% in the CBSE. 3 students; Aashima, Harsh, and Varun cleared IIT main Examination. Many students have got admissions in the renowned Universities. One of our students, Aashima got admission in Delhi University in Honours Degree course on the basis of extra-curricular activities quota. She cleared the trials and won an English debate to get admission.

The school has also been involved in extra curricula activities like music, dance, summer camps etc.  This summer camp, the students danced energetically on the thumping beats where as in cooking, the students experimented on different cuisines and made ’pasta’ and ’dhokla’. In craft cutting board students learnt to make a lion’s face and a human figure out of clay.

The creativity was at its peak. Students learnt to make sandless in craft out of board just like real ones. Even in cooking, it was a great experience for them as they learnt to make biscuit cake, dhokla and bread pizza.
